Men's Health

We encourage men at every age to make regular health checks a priority. Our GPs offer thorough, confidential reviews that can include:

  • A detailed review of your medical and family history
  • A comprehensive physical examination
  • Blood tests when clinically appropriate
  • Preventive health planning and lifestyle advice
  • Cardiovascular risk assessment
  • ECGs if indicated by your symptoms or risk factors
  • Diabetes risk screening
  • Vaccination status review and updates
  • Recalls and follow-up appointments when needed

We also strongly recommend an annual skin check to identify any early signs of skin cancer.

Age and Health

A man’s age plays an important role in understanding health risks:

  • From around 40 years onwards, the risk of cardiovascular disease and some cancers increases. Regular check-ups help set a healthy baseline and ensure recommended screening starts on time.
  • From 65 years and over, chronic conditions become more common, making ongoing monitoring and medication review especially important.

At different stages of life, concerns about fertility and reproductive health can also emerge. Our doctors can provide assessment, guidance, and referrals to support you through these issues.

Mental Health

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Ups and downs are a normal part of life, but if changes in mood or energy:

  • Start affecting work, relationships or sleep, or
  • Persist for weeks or months

it may be time to reach out for support.

Our GPs are trained to provide mental health care, including:

  • Practical strategies and coping tools
  • Referrals to psychologists, psychiatrists or other supports
  • Conversations about whether medication may have a role, where appropriate

If you’re unsure who to book with, our reception team can help you choose a doctor you’re likely to feel comfortable talking to.
